The Glen of Imaal Terrier, also known as the Irish Glen of Imaal Terrier or Wicklow Terrier, is a native Irish breed originating from County Wicklow. Though now listed as one of the Kennel Club’s vulnerable native breeds due to its rarity, this sturdy little terrier remains a national treasure of Ireland. Compact yet powerful, the Glen of Imaal Terrier has a distinctive low-slung body, strong legs, and a double coat that protects it from harsh weather.
