Overview

The Bohemian Shepherd (also known as Chodský pes) originated in the Czech Republic, dating back to the 14th century as a versatile working and herding dog. Though relatively unknown outside its homeland, the breed is beloved for its balanced temperament, trainability, and close bond with people.

Visually similar to a smaller, fluffier German Shepherd, the Bohemian Shepherd is alert yet approachable, excelling as both a family companion and working partner. It thrives in active households that can provide daily mental and physical engagement.
