Overview

Originating in the Picardy region of northern France, the Blue Picardy Spaniel is a refined and capable bird dog developed for hunting in wetlands and marshy terrain. It was created by crossing local Picardy Spaniels with English Setters, resulting in a calm, even-tempered spaniel with striking blue-gray ticking and feathered ears.

Though relatively rare outside France, this breed is prized by hunters and active families for its biddable nature, intelligence, and adaptability. It excels in both hunting and companionship, being affectionate without being clingy, and focused without being intense.
